Well in my usual fashion I am late in writing my Christmas post. This year was quite a transition for us. We sold our home that we had been in for nine years and fully remodeled, and purchased a total fixer upper....and I boy do mean FIXER UPPER! From, mold, to rat/ant & spider infestation this house very rapidly became a total gut job of a remodel. A break the bank kinda remodel. As I type my hands are covered in paint from three solid days of painting trim moulding and doors. I have five more full days of painting ahead to finish the trim work, bathrooms and doors. I am ALMOST done with the interior. We have door thresholds, three interior lights and an electrical outlet to install.
To top it all off we are just recovering from a very bad case of COVID that landed me at the hospital. Soooo needless to say this has been a very non traditional Christmas. All of our families are ill right now with either RSV, Influenza or COVID...so sadly no family gatherings. I squeezed in time literally the day before I fell very ill to decorate the house.
Next week Lillian will be getting spayed... ughhh-a-rama. I am nervous
about that and the aftercare part. She can be a difficult little thing
at times and I know she will not enjoy being penned up & wearing the cone of shame for two weeks.
I hope this next year will be an easier one as we tackle the exterior part of the remodel to our home. I cannot wait for this dumpy little eyesore of a home to become the jewel of the neighborhood like our last home was. So stay tuned as I will be posting next year before and after pics of the interior & exterior.
I hope in the coming year, the Lord blesses you with peace, hope, love, faith, health, comfort and restoration, especially for those in a season of loss or pain. I am so grateful for the virgin birth of Jesus Christ our Lord, His atoning sacrifice and His eternal love. Jesus is the true reason for Christmas. It is easy to lose site of that, but pausing to be still reminds me of that.
Here is our new digs all dressed up for Christmas this year. Welcome in my friends!
