The Studio

We are now empty nesters and Grandparents of two lovely Grans. In this new chapter of my life, I decided to make a space for me to do what I love most; create beautiful things. A space that reflects me and is beautiful but useful as well. My new art studio is also an office for me and a guest room for vistors. A place where I can be at peace, be inspired to create and to reflect. From painting to making candles. A place where classical music fills the air. A place where flowers reside, and their fragrance resigns supreme. A place for everything and everything in it's place. A place that sparkles and is filled with pink and white frilly, feminine things (or as my husband calls them fufu things). So without further ado here is my Studio!

This was the ad on craigslist for a broyhill kitchen island.
Boy was this hard to get upstairs. Heavy!
Removed the wood top, painted white white Benjamin Moore Pearl finish.
Half of my budget went to the new granite top I ordered. So it was DIY time!
The carpet is not in good shape, but new carpet was not in the budget!
We cut off the towel dowels on both sides, drilled holes in it to do this...
We cut down a curtain rod and slipped it through the holes for present ribbon holder.
We used the dowel, a thrifted candle base & curtain finial to make this paper towel holder!
We used a curtain rod w/finials & a broken lamp base to create this ribbon tower.
Used wood appliques for the cabinet doors. Painted this white plastic trash bin blush pink and used an onlay.
I used more curtain rods for this wrapping paper station. Vintage Mason jars for flowers.
Used these pink fabric bins up top for my purse collection. Grey plastic bins for arts supplies & tools.
Made my own cleaners with pretty labels.
Found this pretty swan tape dispenser. Painted her white & added a crown.
Gave this soap dish & European tissue holder a new look and used it for a gloves dispenser.
French dress form; Lillian is her name.
Pink Ballet Slippers.
Vintage Mirrors redone in blush pink & large shelf redone in white linen & distressed.
My pink & grey purse collection.
Vintage Bavarian China letter holder & painted vintage crown mason jar.
Pink tea table. A family heirloom.
More vintage crown jars w/painted pink lids.
Custom letter board I made.
Handpainted porcelain with painted pink frame. My Mama's rabbit with a crown, wearing the garter from her wedding.
Handpainted vintage french hatboxes house my wedding items.
My Mama's wedding tussey mussey redone.
New rug from on clearance at esales.com
White & grey granite byWorldwide Granite. Chair from Amazon.

Chandy was a birthday gift from my Mama a few years ago (been holding onto it).
Had holes cut in granite for these outlets. Thank you Worldwide Granite Co!
Vintage sleighbed redone in white. A family heirloom.
Repainted and added bent metal hooks to this old spoon rack from a yardsale.

Used it for a scissor rack & sign frame. Love it!
And like I said earlier, flowers...and more flowers. I am home!
