This is the first year (since my children where very little) I decorated for Valentine's Day. I had so much fun doing it! I found some thriftstore cherubs, refinished and styled them. They are my new favorite redo (well at tleast for this year so far, lol). I am really wishing for Spring to come early this year, I love Easter, new beginnings and Spring decor! For now it is very cold and Valentine's decor will suffice. Here is the house decked out for Valentine's Day.
| My custom made one of a kind letterboard is so much fun! |
| Here is the BEFORE of the cherubs I found on a thrifting adventure with the hubs. |
| Had so much fun styling & accessorizing them! |
| The queen of hearts is my fav one. |
| I love the little dove she is holding. I actually custom made her crown from metal ribbon cut down. |
| Her quiver, bow & arrow is adorable. She has a special Mom heart locket from my eldest daughter. |
| I used feathers to create a cloud like setting for them. |
| So sweet. |
| Aslan told Lucy, "Have Courage Dear Heart." And so I will also have courage this year. |
| I love the birds & fleur de lis on this vintage pink transferware, little glass heart dishes from France are perfect! |
| No name cards this year. Just bible verses, which have my heart. |
| Beautifully styled tables bring me so much joy! |
| My vintage washstand, another lovely anniversary gift. |
| I love the addition of monogrammed items in my decor. |
| I have a passion for vintage glassware and china. Such an elegant touch to any table setting. |
| Simple elegance is divine. Now to plan the menu for Valentine's dinner. |
| My simple white ironstone & Bavarian china plate wall was one of my favorite projects. |
| Threw a small redo project for my Grandlil's kitchen at Gigi's house in to the mix! |
| Came out way better than I expected. I hope she loves it as much as I do! |
| She even has her own apron & monogrammed towel. |
| My redone yardsale electric fireplace, a $20.00 find that my husband poo pood (now we use everyday)! |
| My Empress Theadora bust. She was an inspiration to all women of her time. |
| More redone thriftstore cherubs. |
| My cherubs are better accessorized than I am! |
| Hand painted glass heart ornaments fill up my crown. |
| I aspire to one day plant pink and white peonies in my yard. |
| So sad to see Romantic Homes Magazine close. This is the last issue :( |
| I may or may not have snuck a few rabbits from Spring decor out already! |
| My Great Grans Karpen chair redone. The dusty rose purses have made their way back out of the closet too! |
| Added a fav bible verse to this vintage 1940's mirror to remind me to be still and meet with the Lord. |
| A very special Valentines treat from my childhood. Maple sugar hearts. |
| Had to cover new sofas w/blankets thanks to the boss in the house...Mr. Riley! |
