Ingredients:
First Layer-Noodles:
- 1 Package of Organic Lasagna Noodles
Second Layer-Cottage Cheese
Mixture:
- 1 Lg Container of Cottage Cheese
- 1 tsp of Ground Black Pepper
- ½ Cup of Parmesan Cheese
- 3 Beaten Eggs
Third Layer-Red Sauce:
- 2 lb Ground Beef or ground chicken or ground turkey
- 1 lb Ground Pork
- 1 TBS Onion Powder
- 1 TBS Garlic Salt
- 3 TBS Italian Seasoning
- 1 Lg Can of Crushed Tomatoes
- 1 Lg Can of Tomato Paste
Fourth and Top Layer:
- 1 lb Grated Mozzarella Cheese
- 1 lb of Grated Jack Cheese
Directions:
- Boil noodles (per directions on the box), adding a TBS of olives oil to water to prevent sticking; drain & fill pan with cold water; set aside.
- In large pan combine ground beef & pork, cook until most of fat is gone (do not drain fat).
- Add the rest of the red sauce ingredients; simmer on low for 45 minutes.
- In separate bowl combine cottage cheese mixture & refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- Grate Cheeses & in a separate bowl & set aside.
- In a 11x13 pan begin the layers (or (3) 8x8 freezable pans). First noodles, then cottage cheese mixture, then red sauce, then grated cheese & begin another layer beginning with noodles. You should have two complete layers, top last layer of grated cheese heavily.
- Cover with foil (spray the inside with Pam to prevent sticking the cheese); bake.
Cook
Temp: 375°F
Cook Time: 35-45 minute (should be bubbling) & let
stand for 15 minutes before cutting (this will firm it up a bit); serve.
Serve With: Garlic Bread, green salad & top with Parmesan cheese.
