Laundry Room Remodel

So we purchased a home again yay! We are very grateful and blessed to be homeowners again. We have been remodeling bit by bit since July. Whew...I am getting too old for this...oh who am I kidding, I'll be remodeling until I'm 90, lol!

So this is my cute little laundry room all fixed up. Let's face it, laundry is tedious and monotonous...and truth be told, one of my least favorite chores. So that's why I add elegance and whimsy to my laundry area, to make it a little more uplifting, along with organized (it makes laundry go faster I promise)! So without further adieu...drum roll please...here it is!

BEFORE: Oak modern cabinets.
BEFORE: Vinyl Floor in KTN, Laundry Room & Bathrooms
Vinyl floor and underlayment was a real bear to remove...good thing I have a cute helper ;D ;D lol! We added new wood laminate flooring and new satin nickel hardware to cabinets and doors. I painted the cabinets using Maison Blanche Wrought Iron Vintage Furniture Paint. I purchased my paint from Shannon at Fox Hollow Cottage. She is wonderful and ships items out so quickly! I used three coats & then topped it with Min-Wax Satin Water Based Poly Acrylic, three coats as well. I used a fun modern floral print in grays, black, white & silver for the back of cabinet, the shelves & the cabinet door panels, to add a touch of whimsy. I made custom labels for my laundry items.
IN PROGRESS: Adding whimsical wallpaper to cabinets.
Purchased my new Satin Brookshire doorknobs @ Handlesets.com
AFTER: Black, white, yellow, nickel, silver, pewter..LOVE!

AFTER: Custom Labels and neutral colored bottles add a touch of elegance to this space.

AFTER: A space to hang the grocery bags, which I always forget!
AFTER: Found this cute vintage sign-LOVE IT!

**(We have replaced the awful fluorescent lights since this original post. Have not been able to get a very good picture of it. I like it so much better with softer lighting)**

For tips on how to transform old items, (like the pewter items seen in my laundry room), see my post on Rub-n-Buff Projects to see how to refinish items to pewter/silver.
