Autumn 2021

At the writing of this post, the leaves have begun to change their color. Autumn, in it's own glorious  way is reminding us, that even in death there is beauty. As the trees let go of their leaves it reminds me gently that we must let dead things go. People, relationships, plants, jobs, visions of what we thought our life would be and is not, (you fill in the black here). When we hold onto dead things the toxicity of the decay will choke out Spiritual growth that we as believers, must be developing. I confess I have been in a long season of holding onto dead things, fighting to revive them. It is not our jobs to do so.  God is the giver of life and death, He decides what, when and if things die. That is a hard reality that we must face when people, animals, relations, etc...die. God is sovereign and still on the throne. It does not mean He cannot mend and restore broken things (health, relationships, etc), but it is His will and His timing that we must wait upon. He may decide in His infinite wisdom not to bring healing or restoration. As hard as that is, we must trust in His way, not our own.

If you can identify with what I am saying here, I pray that the God of all mercy and grace, Whom is the perfecter of our faith, will impart supernatural perseverance through His Holy Spirit, that you might trust in Him through your current season in God's waiting room. I am there with you my friend. Earnestly I am seeking healing of broken things in my life. I cried out imploring Him not to forsake or forget about me. In that heart cry their was a still small voice comforting me saying not thy will but mine, my child. I have not nor will I ever abandon you. Go deeper into my Word, it will sustain you. My grace is sufficient for you.

This was a call to repentance for me in that, I had/have been putting other things before Him, and NOT spending time in His Word. How can I trust Him deeper when I abandon time with Him, He does not abandon me. How quickly I seek the counsel of family, friends and Pastors before turning to Him or His Word. That is why my mind has not been renewed as of late. He calls us to His Word, for the renewing of our mind. To stop us from focusing on our woes and hurts, and refocus our minds and hearts on Him and His Kingdom. It has been me that has stayed stagnant in my Spiritual growth, and been in a stuck pattern of grief and pain. I have allowed Satan to steal my joy, and feelings of defeat, hopelessness, bitterness and anxiety have affected my walk with the Lord. I have believed the enemies lies about my situation. I needed to be reminded, God does not abandon us, He waits patiently for us. I am so grateful for His patience, aren't you?!

God is weaving a beautiful tapestry of faith in our lives. Most of the time we only see the back of the tapestry, full of mismatched, ugly, mangled knots that make no sense. Once in a while we get a peek of the beautiful tapestry that He is weaving on the front side of that tapestry. That glimpse sustains me. I do not know if I will see resolution to the dead, broken or cut off things in my life, or if ever I will be physically well this side of heaven again. Oh yes, the Father is most capable of those things, healing, repair and restoration, but it may not be His perfect will in my life. It is a part of the tapestry and He is teaching me to trust in Him.

Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us to "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths." Here is our fall home decor for 2021. Welcome to our home, let's have hot apple cider and some coffee cake if you please! Welcome fall, I have been waiting for you, all of your beautiful traditions and your magnificent colours.
