Snickerdoodle Cookies


Let set on pan for 2 minutes then remove from pan and cool on racks

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 1½ cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2¾ cups of flour
  • 2 tsp of cream of tartar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking soda
Topping:
  • In separate bowl:
  • 1 cup of Sugar
  • 1 TBS Cinnamon
Directions:
  • Preheat oven.
  • Cream shortening and sugar.
  • Add eggs, vanilla and beat well.
  • In a separate bowl combine flour, cream of tartar, salt, and baking soda.
  • Add to wet ingredients, mix well.
  • Roll into 2" balls and dip into sugar and cinnamon topping; bake.
  • Remove from oven, let set on pan for 2 minutes, remove to racks to cool.
Snickerdoodles on a vintage glass plate...vintage glass=love!

Cook Temp: 325°F
Cook Time: 13-16 minutes.
Serve With:Milk, coffee or tea.
Notes: This is my beloved Granny's recipe & my favorite cookie. Simple & delish! 
Yields: Approx 30 Cookies
