- 1 cup shortening
- 1½ cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2¾ cups of flour
- 2 tsp of cream of tartar
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking soda
Topping:
- In separate bowl:
- 1 cup of Sugar
- 1 TBS Cinnamon
Directions:
- Preheat oven.
- Cream shortening and sugar.
- Add eggs, vanilla and beat well.
- In a separate bowl combine flour, cream of tartar, salt, and baking soda.
- Add to wet ingredients, mix well.
- Roll into 2" balls and dip into sugar and cinnamon topping; bake.
- Remove from oven, let set on pan for 2 minutes, remove to racks to cool.
Cook Time: 13-16 minutes.
Serve With:Milk, coffee or tea.
