Measuring Utensil Rack

I use this every day! Freed up some space in my smallish kitchen.
  1. You will need an old sign from wood or composite board, (I purchased one from Ross clearance for $5.99, it was forest green, I loved the scalloped edge at the bottom).
  2. Paint whatever color you like. I use Semi Flat Black Spray Paint.
  3. Layout where you want to insert your picture hanging tacks (I got my fleur de lis picture tacks online here is the link:  Hillman Tack Hooks  (I used a yard stick to lay them out).
  4. Insert tack hooks with a little hot glue on each tack end, (easier if you drill tiny pilot holes our it will hurt your hands pressing the tacks in).
  5. Embellish by gluing a fleur de lis (I used a broken shower hook, you can find wooden embellishments of your choosing at your local hardware store or online). Or you can use wood appliques as shown below.
Cut down for a smaller wall.
Love these Fleur de Lis tack hooks!
Added wood appliques to this one.
Made this as a gift for a friend. She loves red & White. I painted the tack hooks & FDL red & antiqued them. Would be fun to stencil the top area. Hmmm or vinyl lettering :D  I feel a future project coming on!
         6. Hang your favorite measuring spoons and cups & Voila!
Fleur de Lis Measuring Spoons...of course!
