Chocolate Chip Cookies

Father's Day 2012
Ingredients:
  • 3 cups of all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp of salt
  • 2 tsp hot water
  • 1 cup butter (2 sticks); softened
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 cup of packed brown sugar
  • 2 tsp of vanilla
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups (12oz) of semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts; optional
Directions:
  • Preheat oven.
  • Cream together the butter & sugars until smooth.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time; add vanilla.
  • Dissolve the baking soda in the hot water and add to batter along with the salt.
  • Stir in the flour.
  • Add the chocolate chips & nuts; mix well.
  • Drop large spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet; bake.
  • Remove cookies from cookie sheet, let stand for 1-2 minutes on cookie sheet.
  •  Remove cookies to a cooling rack.
  • Cool completely & store in an airtight container.
Cook Temp: 350°F
Cook Time: 10-13 Minutes, depending on how soft you like them.
Notes: A family favorite.
Yields: Approx 28 Large Cookies
